Pakistan Eagles soar to final with dominant wins over India and Iran

Pakistan Eagles squeezed into the final of the Sarsabz Baba Guru Nanak International Kabaddi Cup 2025 with two commanding victories over arch-rivals Indian Tigers and Iran’s Lions of Tabriz at the WAPDA Sports Complex, Lahore.

In front of an electric home crowd, the Eagles first overpowered the Indian Tigers 37-26, and later crushed Iran’s Lions 46-30, maintaining a double-digit lead throughout both contests. The clash between Pakistan and India, the highlight of the day, saw the Eagles establish a 10-point advantage at halftime (26-16), which they carried through to the final whistle.

Later in the day, Pakistan continued their dominant run, ending the first half against Iran with a 25-15 lead and widening the gap to 16 points by the end. Their clinical defence and sharp offensive raids left little room for opposition resistance. The final match, a rematch between Pakistan Eagles and Indian Tigers, is set to be played on Friday (April 18), at 5:00 pm at the same venue.

Organized by Pakistan Kabaddi Federation and sponsored by Fatima Fertilizer, the tri-nation tournament aims to promote regional harmony and cultural exchange through sport. PKF Secretary Rana Sarwar praised the spirit of the event and expressed hope that such platforms would continue to strengthen ties across borders.
